See our Product Tour for a complete overview of functions and features, or download our C21Express Product Brochure for complete information. |

All imported images are immediately available for inquiry. C21Express’s standard inquiries, also called filters, allow electronic retrieval by any field in the database. Some common fields include reference number, account number, check number, can also inquire by any combination of up to six fields. The easy to use windows prompt operators for required information and provide quick response to information requested. For instance, images for all items greater than $2,500.00 for a given day can be reviewed on-line, or all images on an account can be selected. Searches are performed by creating a selection criteria, referred to as a filter, using the screen displayed below. A field is added to the search by selecting the check box to the left of the field. Then, users can select the type of comparison from the following: equal (=), greater than (>), less than (<), greater than or equal (>=), less than or equal (<=), LIKE (allowing global selection for only a portion of the selected field - this is very beneficial for searching for a particular run/batch or transit item region). and BETWEEN (allowing the user to select ranges like amounts between $100 and $200, or images between January 1, 2006 and June 30, 2006). Recurring filters can be saved and retrieved in later sessions.

The compare information is then entered in the corresponding text box to complete the search selection criteria. To find amounts equal to $100.00, the user simply selects the Amount field, the equal operator (=), and enters 100 in the corresponding text area. But that’s not all, the information retrieved can be sorted in a variety of ways. By selecting the Sort Field, the retrieved information will by sorted by the selected field. By default, the information is sorted in ascending order, but the sort order can be changed by simply selecting the Sort in Descending Order check box. Retrieving large dollar items couldn’t be easier. Just select amounts greater than a specific dollar amount, and a list of items will be displayed. And don’t forget, the associated images are also displayed with viewing options that allow zoom, endorsement display, and much more. Research doesn’t get much easier, but continue reading to find out ALL of the benefits of using C21Express.
Check images matching the filter’s selection criteria are displayed in the spreadsheet-like grid shown below. All the relevant information is displayed in one document. As a result, the user can see the list of checks, the posting status, debit or credit flag, and NSF or exception status. As information in the grid is selected, the corresponding image is displayed in the window below. Electronic endorsement records from image cash letters are maintained for future research and can be accessed by simply selecting the View Endorsement Records menu item. For institutions using teller names, the teller name is displayed in the grid, and inquiries can be structure to select only a certain letter's work for review. For incoming cash letter items, the bank of first deposit is displayed as a reference making it easy for the user to immediately identify the bank that first processed the check.

By simply clicking the right mouse button on the image, or selecting an image tool from the toolbar, users can manipulate the image for a variety of different views. Zoom In/Out features allow for changing the size of the image in the display window. A quick way to view the entire image is provided with the Fit to Window feature, and the orientation of the image can be changed by rotating the image to the left or right. Endorsement information can be viewed by flipping the image, and specific areas of the image can be selected with the mouse to zoom in for closer inspection. answered, and copies of checks can be provided to customers immediately either by printing on a laser printer or by transmitting the item by FAX, all within the standard WindowsTM environment. And for those customers that need all checks since the last statement, a range of checks can be selected and formatted on the page in a variety off styles (2 - 20 per page, front only or front/back).

Return Processing. Complete automation of the NSF and Exception item processing operation is provided by C21Express. Officers and other personnel can review each check indicating whether the check is to be paid or returned. NSF check images can be sorted by account number, officer, or amount, and users can select only the accounts assigned to their unique officer ID. The NSF charge can be changed during processing, and every customer NSF notice includes an image of the check. Providing the image helps to reduce the number of questions from customers as to the information about paid or returned checks. Cumbersome methods of handling large dollar items, stop payment suspects, items requiring two signatures, and items requiring an endorsement review are consolidated into one simple process that is combined with NSF prrocessing. All of the necessary information for returns is entered during the process (Return Reason, Bank of First Deposit, etc.). This information is used to generate the electronic Return Item cash letter in X9.37 format for submission to the Federal Reserve Bank or another correspondent bank. Upon completion of the day’s work, management reports are generated to help operators balance the day’s return item activity, check for errors in the return item image cash letter, and create totals to compare after the image cash letter is submitted.
