| BRANCH - ProofPC32 Remote Branch allows branch personnel to process transactions with smaller, low-cost capture devices and fully functional software with the same processing logic and power of the operations center. The remote module incorporates all of the features and functionality of ProofPC32, but in small- scale environment. Transactions can be captured and balanced at the remote location, or simply captured and transmitted to the operations center for reject repair and balancing. Branch personnel submit transactions and images electronically throughout the day when remote operations are complete. See our Product Brochure for ProofPC32 Remote Branch. CUSTOMER - ProofPC32 Remote Customer allows company personnel to process checks at each location with smaller, low-cost capture devices and software that validates each transaction to ensure the integrity of the check information to be forwarded to the bank. Checks are captured and balanced at the remote location, and electronically transmitted to the company’s bank for deposit. Using this new technology, companies can eliminate bank accounts in towns and cities near every location, cash concentration debits (CCD), depository transfer checks (DTC), and accounting overhead associated with bank reconciliations, deposit notifications, and adjustments while at the same time gaining improved funds availability. Depositing checks electronically will also reduce the high per item deposited fees charged by most banks, and by concentrating all deposits in a single bank, companies can improve their bargaining power in negotiating interest rates and fees. | Electronic Cash Letters. Cash letters are prepared electronically either at the branch location or the central site. Using ANSI standard X9.37 files, cash letters are sent electronically to the Federal Reserve Bank or another correspondent bank. Using electronic cash letters eliminate courier costs and result in quicker funds availability. ProofPC32 includes extensive testing for possible errors to minimize returns and adjustments, and these tests can be performed throughout the day to provide ample time to correct errors before sending the file at the end of the day. CAR/LAR. With CAR/LAR, amounts can be automatically read from the check image without the need to manually enter amounts for each transaction. With Check 21, encoding each check is not necessary because MICR information is included in the electronic records for each item. The new item processing environment provided by Check 21 eliminates the need for MICR encoding, proof machines, couriers, and manual data entry. Security. Setup and implementation of ProofPC32 is accomplished with user-defined tables providing pocket selection, range checking, rule validation, MICR line parsing, and edit checking. As a result, installation and maintenance can occur in the field with no programmer interaction required. Using the Microsoft databases as a foundation, ProofPC32 allows quick access to setup and run information combined with multi-user and multi-location support, and all operations can be password-protected to ensure the overall integrity of the setup and daily processing. Additional validation routines ensure complete data integrity for core processor transfer files, COF export files, and image cash letter files. Transactions and images captured with ProofPC32 can easily exported to other applications with the simple click of a button.. Exports include the standard export (image and host), COF file export, and other custom application exports. |
The user-friendly interface is built on the familiar Microsoft™ Explorer and Outlook style. Using group list and tree controls, any user can quickly determine which steps in the daily process have been completed, remain in progress, or have not yet been started. The user interface provides an overall view of the daily proof-of-deposit process while displaying all the necessary information and controls to perform the selected functions. Users simply click on the desired function such as Reject Reentry or Adjustments to begin the process for the selected run. Additionally, the user can navigate through all the available functions with a minimum of keystrokes and menu selections. This eliminates the need to drill down through several menu items to start the desired function. Of course, because runs are segregated by function in the group list on the left, there is no need for the user to enter a run number when selecting reject-reentry because the selection on the group list already knows the appropriate run number. |

Combined with the flexibility of user ad-hoc reporting, the availability and format of the information processed by ProofPC32 is limited only the your imagination. |
ProofPC32 provides all the necessary reports for performing the daily item processing function. The entire reporting structure is based on Seagate Software’s Crystal Reports, a powerful tool for extracting information from databases. Reports provided include online and printed reject, proof master, run summary, endpoint analysis, account activity, general ledger summary, and cash letter reports. Reports can be viewed on-line, eliminating the need to print every report. The online report windows can remain open. allowing the users to switch from one window to another to expedite processing. To assist in balancing, a batch out-of-balance report is provided which lists the detail information on each batch that does not balance. But with the power of Crystal Reports ad hoc reporting, users can build custom reports based on their specific needs without having to pay for expensive programming time to develop custom reports. |

Friendly User Interface - Run Processing
The adjustment function provides a similar user interface with the addition of a search procedure to find the items necessary for adjustment (see the next page for the full display). As an added benefit, the list of items below the selected image includes the entire batch of items to assist the user in balancing the transaction. A detailed summary of the run balance by batch is also available while performing adjustments. With this function, the user can make the necessary adjustments and immediately determine if the run is in balance. But that’s not all, using the Access database allows ProofPC32 to quickly scan the entire run data to determine the balancing information. This eliminates the problem of unsynchronized summary files used independently of the transactions in determining balancing status. |
